Todd graduated from LSU with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering. He then attended Loyola Law School. Todd's engineering background enhances his ability to defend more technical cases involving experts in engineering and safety. He has been a managing partner in the firm since it began in 2002.
Todd's practice focuses primarily on the defense of domestic and foreign insurers writing general and professional liability policies. A routine part of his practice also involves defending trucking/automobile cases as well as subrogation recovery. Since Hurricane Katrina, Todd's practice has also involved defending hundreds of first-party property cases.
Todd has tried judge and jury trials to conclusion throughout the State of Louisiana. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the state and at all levels of the appellate process. He has received the highest rating of AV from Martindale Hubbell for both ethics and professionalism.
Todd's unique style of handling cases always takes into account a practical and economic component with the client always afforded the option to attempt resolution on a cost effective basis rather than unnecessarily litigating every issue to the point that fees and expenses accrue in excess of the actual value of the case. He is mindful of the fact that a closed file early is better than litigating a file all the way to trial and eventually settling it on the court house steps.
Todd frequently gives presentations to clients on recurrent issues so that the clients are comfortable with the complexities that can arise in Louisiana cases.
